After you've applied at Hawkeye as a new or returning student, take the following steps to complete the admissions process and keep your application moving forward.

Complete Admission Requirements

Course Placement

Hawkeye requires all students to take a course placement assessment before registering for any math or literacy course. Your assessment scores will be used to place you in coursework at Hawkeye.

Program Specific Admission Requirements

The following programs have specific course placement assessment scores, prerequisite coursework, and/or additional admissions requirements that you will need to complete for acceptance into the program.

Send Official Transcripts to Admissions

Please send the following official transcripts* to the Admissions office:

  1. Official high school transcripts* showing graduation and/or GED or HiSET scores. You must be a high school graduate or equivalent to enroll in a program/major. View our High School Diploma Verification Process.

  2. If you have taken college-level classes and would like to receive possible credit, you will need to have your previous college(s) send an official college transcript*.

  3. Military transcripts. See military branch transcript request websites.

* Transcripts (high school, college, and GED/HiSET scores) are considered official only when sent from institute to institute or from an approved, secure third-party agency. (i.e National Student Clearinghouse, Parchment). Transcripts hand delivered, even if in a sealed envelope, will be considered unofficial.

Official high school and college transcripts received since 2008 should already be on file with the college. Contact Admissions if you have questions about previously submitted transcripts and assessment scores.

Program Admittance Letter

Once you complete the above steps your application will be reviewed for admission. Please allow five business days for an update on your application status. Further communications will be sent via email and mail.
